VJ Emmy (born Ssebanyiga Moses Emmanuel) is a prominent Ugandan "Video Joker" (VJ) and filmmaker from the Wakaliwood film scene near Kampala. He is celebrated for his live, rapid-fire commentary and dubbing, which translates and enhances foreign and local action films in Ugandan video halls. He gained international acclaim for providing the English voiceover translation for Wakaliwood's viral hit Who Killed Captain Alex? and the action movie Bad Black. Operating out of his own studio in Uganda, he dubs around ten films a week and is frequently featured in global cinema events, including international performances at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Alongside his voice work, VJ Emmy acts in, directs, and produces his own feature films.
